Now that we are in lockdown. I have noticed that there is a long list of people being laid off from the job. And it seems like the essential jobs will remain. Like those reception jobs may be removed if the need for such job is not much. Or maybe existing people will be told to do that job.

Do you think job positions which are held just for the sake of following social justice or to abide by the law are kept will be removed under stress of financial times?

@Esmee In my country, the president informed the different sectors not to fire their employees because of the lockdown issue. If they do, they will be in a difficult situation after this chaotic situation of COVID-19.

Financial constraints  may force some companies to lay off their non-essential workers and it is inevitable, I think.

I think many people will lose their jobs. Maybe some of them will try to work online.

I think we will be in for a big suprise in change of things. Laws might change to accommodate  the changes you mentioned on your post.

Many companies might be coming up with future strategies which might involve working at home or part time jobs.

That would be possible for a company that incurred big loses due to the crisis will have to control their budget for personnel.

Actually, it should be described what is non essential. People will not pay anyone anything unless essential especially in private sector. And if the employer is government, they will have to think twice before sacking someone, essential or non essential.

This is a foolish thing to do in the long run.  May be now because only a few people are allowed to work in offices this system could be employed but those jobs should be back once this restriction is removed.
