I buy my cat something called a cat kit. It is something you open up and put on the floor. She can lay on one side and scratch to her heart's content on the other side. She loves it. I one time bought her one of those that stands on the floor and takes up room and is off the ground and a few steps ups and has cool stuff, but, she did not like it so sold it. It took up room and she did not use it. It was a shame, but, that is life.

We do not have a cat scratcher per se but there are enough surfaces that I see them having scratch sessions. The barks of trees, our rolled up carpet are examples.

I was hoping to avoid her scratching other places by having her own scratcher. I guess it does not work that way. Anyway she loves her own scratcher.

I am not well-versed with cats because our pets are dogs ever since we had one. But I know that it is nice to buy things for the pet. It's  like buying a toy for your kid.

Nowadays I try to buy for her what I know she likes. I would say it does not matter if it is a cat or dog if you buy them something they will know you care.

We don't have Cats so we don't have anything like that you have described here! I never bought anything like Dog Scratcher when we had the dogs as those big creatures literally wanted to have physical grooming to be done!

When I had my dog I did not see her scratching on anything. I know cats like to do that and claim things as their territory.

No gadget or kit for our cat. He usually never stays at home. He just only goes home when its meal time or to take a nap and sleep.

Sophie lives inside. She needs something like that. She goes out on the porch and used to go out in the hallway. One time she was outside on the roof of this house that is in front of my building but she was traumatized so she does not do that anymore.

As far as I remember, my Shadow cat usually scratches the bark of our plant. I am glad that he didn't try to scratch things up in the house.

Sophie scratches things that belong to us. We rent and most of the things here are ours so she scratches on those things.
