We have household items that we replace regularly depending on how often we use, clean, and disinfect them. We may not be aware but some of our commonly used items in our home may harbor germs, bacteria, and viruses if not regularly replaced or cleaned.

Some home items that we replace regularly are:

  1. Toothbrush. We replace our toothbrush once a month.
  2. Kitchen sponge. Every time we do groceries, we always buy a kitchen sponge. We replace it once a month.
  3. Dish/kitchen/hand towel. We change them once a week.
  4. Bath towels. Our towels are changed once a week.
  5. Pillows. We wash our pillows every 4-5 months and replace them yearly or every two years.
  6. Slippers. We wash our house slippers once a month and would sometimes replace them from 6 months to a year.
  7. Mop. We use the mop every day and clean it after every use. The whole mop is replaced every 3 months or when it looks worn out.
  8. Rags. We wash our rags immediately after every use.
  9. Toilet brushes. We replace our toilet brushes every 6 months.
  10. Doormats. We wash our doormats once a week.

So far these items are what I remember easily since we frequently use them.

Do you have anything to add up?

Those are the most common things in every home that need to be cleaned or replaced as often as possible

We sometimes change basic self-care needs, such as shampoo, soaps, shavers, and the like. I am sure there are other things that need to be changed here.

I think you have forgotten to mention about the tooth pastes, soaps, shampoos, liquid soaps, detergents etc?!

No, not really. I am talking about household items that can harbor germs, bacterias and viruses if not replaced regularly or disinfected.

Oh I see! If that is the case then I would like to add Kerchiefs and the Turkish Napkins which I keep for cleaning up my face! The dining table cover is one thing which definitely deserves a place in your list! Yes, my wife's kitchen apron also can be added!:D

The sponge in the kitchen sink is the most often we need to replace because it doesn't last a week. For other household items they last for more than a month.

You have given the list of which we do not change our tooth brush that often, nor do we wash our pillows but we change our bed linen every fortnight, the kitchen sponge is replaced when it does not serve the purpose, doormats are washed every fortnight, and most of the things we replace when  they do not serve the purpose

I think that when things are no longer ideal for use or being torn or broken then it must be replaced.

I feel you have listed everything. I don't have anything to add in this list.

You are right. It is necessary to do these things. I do almost everything you've mentioned. We also wash our curtains and rugs monthly.
