There is a saying that I remember from the late Tom Landry who was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 1960-1988 which was something like "Don't worry about things you cannot control."
It is good advice that I have learned to take since recently I had to face the challenge of going to a local hospital in Lake Charles to have a lung examination to see if my breathing problems that happened when the Coronavirus struck the area in mid March.
Since a lot of hospitals were closed with the exception of emergencies that need to be dealt with, I could see my regular doctor until May of this year.
When my doctor sent a reference to have a lung exam at a local hospital in June, the reply from the hospital to see me for a lung exam did not materialize in June as scheduled.
Then out of the blue, a nurse at another local in Lake Charles called me in mid July to make an appointment to have my ling exam which I took on Monday.
The results of the lung exam will be known in one week to determine if I have a lung related illness even though I do not smoke any cigarettes in my lifetime.
If I have learned anything about living during a rough time, it is to be patient when dealing with doctor appointments during this pandemic and do not worry about things I cannot control in life.
