Yes. In this time of uncertainty, religion seems to 'calm' the people and helps them forget the present agony.

In my opinion the religious leaders make the religion as an addiction which is an equivalent to the opium by misguiding and misinterpreting the preaching provided in the religion for their own benefits! Poor people they foilow the leaders like a flock of the sheep!

I think that is still the case cause religion leaders are the one that should be blamed and the point is, every thing in hands of ones wh care only for their own interests, can be manipulated.

That is true. Religion is like an opium that will give you hope temporarily. But in the end you get nothing but just an imagination l

I agree about it, but only in few contexts.

Religion is an opium of people.

Opium makes you feel relaxed, makes you feel good, and WILL destroy you from the inside.

Religion makes you feel relaxed, makes you feel good, and WILL fix and repair everything wrong inside you.

Why do heaven and hell exist? To make people do good deeds and to avoid bad things. You wouldn't want other people to annoy you or insult you or hurt you or even try to kill you, would you?

I think this is like a controversial topic to be discussed, but I'm only stating my thoughts.

Thanks

I have said that so many times.  They spend hours praying and reading holy scriptures and neglect their duties.

I agree with some people. Others do not believe in God. I noticed that they tend to be more addicted to God when being in a difficult situation.

It is because the head of the Church or the leaders are exploiting their members for their personal gain.
